How many people can join my notarization session?
You can include yourself plus up to 2 additional participants (additional signers and/or witnesses, in any combination), for up to 3 people total. You can add up to 2 witnesses — for example, 2 additional signers, 1 additional signer + 1 witness, or 2 witnesses.
Is there a charge for additional signers or witnesses?
You (the primary signer) are always included at no extra cost. Each additional signer is $10. Your own witness (someone you bring) is free. If you need Notary Melon to provide a witness, that's $5 each. Existing notarization/seal pricing is unchanged.
Can I bring my own witness, or do you provide one?
Either works. Bringing your own witness is free — just add their name, email, and mobile number when booking. If you'd rather have Notary Melon supply a witness, you can request one for $5 and we'll assign someone for your session.
What information do I need to provide for additional signers or witnesses?
For an additional signer or your own witness, we'll need their full name, email address, and mobile phone number so we can send them their session invitation. If you request a Notary Melon-provided witness, there's nothing to fill in — we'll assign and notify someone before your session.
Can I add a signer or witness after I’ve already booked, during my live session?
Yes. Your notary can add a signer or witness during the session itself. The same pricing applies ($10 per additional signer, free for a signer-supplied witness, $5 for a Notary Melon-supplied witness), and it's billed as part of your post-session balance, just like extra notarization seals.
What happens if I owe additional fees after my session?
If extra seals or participants were added during your session, you'll be asked to review and pay that balance before you can download your completed document. If nothing extra is owed, your document is available to download immediately when the session ends.
Does a witness receive a copy of the signed document?
No. Witnesses aren't a party to the document, so they don't receive the completed document by email or download — only signers do. Witnesses simply get a confirmation that the session is complete.
